Erasing. Dialogue
Exhibition «Erasing. Dialogue» is a result of Russian-Swiss art-residence «Laboratory. Illustration as a reaction on political and social realms». We try to understand what place illustration takes in our world and how illustration can change it.
During the residence we discussed six topical issues:
— Freedom of speech
— Gender issues
— Ethical borders
— Civil position
— New media
— Economical context
Six participants from Switzerland, Belarus and Russia created 38 illustrations, 29 of them were exhibited, 9 were censored.

Here you can see my part in it and the work of graphic & exhibition designer Anna Karp.
Anna K:
«The publication is a response to the question: What’s left after the residency?
...So what’s left?
– the state of dialogue in 2 languages and of 2 languages (German & Russian)
– all censored works joined the others to keep the story full
It also addresses self-publishing to empower the voices of artists. At the same time, the works are put in no particular order to be not just illustrations for the topics discussed but rather provide the works with distance even to artists verbal and conscious input.»
